Benefits:
-
Flexibility - You can send and receive
messages at any time of day or night
-
Accessibility - There is no travel
involved, hauling of artwork, or scheduling of appointments
-
Leisurely - You are able to take as
long as you like to compose the message you will send and reflect on my
email reply to you.
Limitations:
Online Art in Therapy is not the same as
face-to-face contact with a professional therapist. This can be problematic
for some people. Online art in therapy lacks viewing of the actual artwork,
body language, verbal cues, and a spontaneous exchange of feelings and ideas
in real time.
How it Works:
1. Read and agree to
Terms and Conditions
2. Pay your online
email art in therapy session fee
Scan one art piece and attach it to your email. In
your email, please share with me:
- A little about your self and your art process
- What you hope to gain from this online art therapy
exchange
- What you would like to improve in your life
Send your email to
Kayala@center4creativity.com
You will receive my email reply within 24 hours. My
email reply will not be an interpretation of your art work. My email reply
will include comments
and questions that will help you:
- explore your art process more fully
- promote self-awareness
- self-reflect
- discover potential solutions
The goal, ultimately, is wholeness.
The art in therapy process ultimately will help you know your Self and to be
your Self. During your online session, you will have the opportunity to show
your work, share your process, and ask for my feedback as a professional art
therapist and psychotherapist.
If you are in Crisis:
Online art in therapy is not designed for people in crisis. If you are in
crisis, call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Room.
